What we process and why

We use account identifiers and the email address you provide during registration or that Apple or Google supplies for authentication and profile creation. Login providers may supply your name and profile photo. When you register with an email address and password, the password is handled by the authentication service on our VPS; it is not published in your profile or logs. Apple login may use a private email address. We store your film and episode history, watchlist, ratings, comments, reports, and blocks to provide these features, support continuity of your library, and protect the community. The country you optionally provide in your profile and your language and time zone preferences help us present the service appropriately; we do not collect GPS location.

Technical data needed to operate the service, such as IP addresses, requests, timestamps, and failures, helps keep the service secure and diagnose problems. Messages and attachments you voluntarily send to support are used to respond to your request; avoid including unnecessary personal data. Login and integration tokens are protected credentials; they are not published in logs. The app keeps a cache and pending actions on your device to support use during connection problems.

Optional Trakt integration

Connecting your Trakt account authorizes reading and synchronizing your history, watchlist, and ratings. Actions taken in TVFolio may be synchronized with your connected account. You can disconnect in Settings → Trakt; you do not need Trakt to use tracking in TVFolio.

When you search for a film or series, our server sends the title query to Trakt to retrieve catalogue results, even if you have not connected a Trakt account. This uses TVFolio's application credentials rather than your personal Trakt account. Trakt may process the search request under its own privacy policy.

Public comments

Approved comments and the author's public identification data are visible to other users. History, watchlists, and ratings are not published through this feature. Reports and your block list are private and accessible to the operator when necessary for safety and moderation.

Service providers and infrastructure

The service uses a VPS on netcup infrastructure, Cloudflare for DNS, protection, and content delivery, Apple and Google for authentication, Trakt for authorized integration, and Purelymail for support, registration confirmation, and account recovery emails. Supabase authentication is hosted on our VPS. These services may process data outside your country. We do not sell personal data or use viewing history for targeted advertising. This version does not include advertising or advertising-tracking SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Your library data is retained while your account is active. You can initiate deletion in Settings → Delete account. Access is blocked and your public profile is hidden immediately; a server process removes personal data and the authentication identity. Your Trakt account and history are not deleted.

If revocation of an Apple credential is pending, an encrypted copy of that credential and the minimum context needed may remain under restricted access, solely to complete revocation. The library and profile are removed independently of that step; the credential is erased when revocation is complete.

Encrypted backups may contain earlier copies. Removal of these copies follows operational retention; manually captured snapshots may remain until the operator removes them. Technical security and failure records also follow operational retention, with no single time limit promised in this policy. A minimal security record of a deleted account is retained to prevent old tokens from recreating it; operational moderation receipts are disassociated from personal targets. We do not use backups to reactivate a deleted account.
